Enabling Trust in a Virtual Business World
One of the key ingredients of success in the global business world is trust. Co-workers need to trust each other in order to create goods and services, workers need to trust their managers and business leaders, and customers need to trust businesses. Traditionally, trust in the workplace was based on one-to-one, face-to-face interactions. Workers would meet, talk and collaborate in the same place. That still happens to a certain degree, particularly in small businesses, but in the ever-growing virtual marketplace, businesses now have to examine how they can create trust in the virtual workplace or business environment, where workers and business partners may rarely, if ever, be in physical proximity to each other.
